BACKGROUND TO MATT TALBOT COMMUNITY TRUST
The Matt Talbot Community Trust is a drug free community education
programme endeavouring to create change from a grassroots level in
Ballyfermot. We tackle the unique social issues that lead to problem
drug use and criminal behaviour through the provision of a quality
education system and structured, person-centred supports. We are on a
journey towards peer led programme approach and interventions that are
identified and managed through peer to peer support within the
organisation. This ethos is reflected across all organisational
activities and approach
The organisation works with our participant group to develop a
tailored plan that is strength based to develop pathways into
education and/or employment coupled with social supports such as
counselling, key-working, family support and group work.
COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SUPERVISOR ROLE
The Matt Talbot Community Trust runs a Community Employment Scheme day
programme and accepts referrals from Probation, Prison personnel,
Rehabilitation Centres, Drug Programmes and individuals who would like
to access the programme.
This post is fully funded through the Department of Employment Affairs
Social Protection and subject to continued funding. Community
Employment Supervisor rates apply
PROJECT WORKER ROLE
This post is fully funded through the Drugs Policy Unit and is subject
to continued funding.
MTCT can be flexible in terms of the weekly rota but it must be in
keeping with organisations needs
